HS2 Bill receives Royal Assent - Rail Delivery Group comment
Royal Assent for the HS2 Bill is a major milestone for HS2 and Britain, and will be an important part of a bigger and better railway, Paul Plummer, chief executive of the Rail Delivery Group, has said.
Commenting on the HS2 Bill receiving Royal Assent, Paul Plummer, chief executive of the Rail Delivery Group, which represents train operators and Network Rail, said:
“This is a major milestone for HS2 and Britain. The new high-speed line will boost north-south links, add much-needed space on the railway for more and faster trains, and support economic growth.
“HS2 will be an important part of a bigger and better railway, and the rail industry is working hard to ensure HS2 is seamlessly integrated with the existing network as one railway when the new line opens. Rail companies will continue to deliver billions of pounds worth of improvements for customers while HS2 is being built as well as harnessing and developing new technology such as Bluetooth ticketing and running trials to make fares simpler.”
