Although the Eurail Group has ended our decades-long membership of Interrail since we stopped trialling Eurail passes, British people will feel no difference – they can still buy an Interrail pass, get the Eurostar and travel by train across Europe."

Notes

• The Eurail Group manages both Eurail and Interrail, two separate passes for European rail travel. The first is for non-European citizens and the second is for European citizens. The Eurail Group have decided to merge these into a single pass offering, available to anyone.
• British rail companies have been taking part in a trial of selling Eurail passes for the last year while continuing to sell our long-standing BritRail pass. We are ending the trial with Eurail because offering both passes is confusing and rail companies and Visit Britain support BritRail. BritRail offers:
  • 2 for 1 deals on over 200 top attractions across the country, helping tourists save money 
  • the convenience and environmental benefit of being available to keep your ticket on a smartphone, unlike Interrail/Eurail which offers paper tickets
  • the opportunity to reserve seats
  • discounts for children, youth, senior passengers, families, groups and people travelling between November and February – as well as running promotions throughout the year
  • a wide range of good value passes for people visiting specific regions, for example an England only pass and a BritRail London Plus Pass for travel around the South East up to Stratford Upon Avon, Bristol, Bath and Kings Lynn
• We want to work with Eurail Group to develop an offer for tourists who want to buy the Eurail and Britrail passes together.
