Rail industry comments as vaccination roll-out nears major milestone
Transport Secretary Grant Shapps hailed the efforts of transport operators and employees across the country who have gone above and beyond to help the nation’s coronavirus vaccination roll-out, as the programme nears a major milestone in reaching those most at need.
Responding to this, Robert Nisbet, Director of Nations and Regions for the Rail Delivery Group, said:
“Rail companies are proud to be playing their part in the vaccine roll out, getting doctors to hospitals, volunteers to vaccination centres and patients to their appointments. We’re working with unions to encourage and help our eligible staff to take up their vaccine offers as they continue supporting the country at the frontline.”
