Rail industry responds to reports of coronavirus-related staffing issues
Responding to recent reports of staff at a small number of train companies being affected by Covid-19, a spokesperson for the Rail Delivery Group said:
“The rail industry has been taking every reasonable step to keep its people safe so that we can keep the country moving. This includes additional cleaning, procedures around social distancing, providing masks, installing screens and rostering teams to improve resilience. Should our people be affected by the virus, we have processes in place to look after their welfare and contingency plans in place to look after services for our passengers as much as we possibly can. Where any changes to services need to be made, we will provide up to date information to customers.”
