Statement regarding Rail Delivery Group CEO
An update about the Chief Executive Officer role at the Rail Delivery Group.
Earlier in the year Rail Delivery Group CEO Paul Plummer announced plans for his retirement. When doing so, he said that he wanted to stay at RDG until the conclusions from the Williams Review are clear and to facilitate the transition to a sustainable future for the organisation. His commitment to these two things is undiminished.
Despite attracting a strong field of candidates for Paul’s successor it was not possible to secure the right alternative for the organisation at this time. Given the current political climate, the members asked Paul to stay and he has agreed to do so.

“With the Williams rail review expected to report in the near future and given the current political climate it is crucial to have the right leadership at the helm of the organisation that represents the rail industry. Given Paul’s unparalleled experience I am delighted that he has agreed to remain in post as Chief Executive.”
